We have a lake behind our shop and I spotted this beauty this morning.

Sarasota county. I've seen quite a few eagles the past few years, but never this close. I hope he keeps coming back.

Mating season - varies greatly by region. In the South it may last from late September through November, while in the Great Plains and Mountain West, it may last from January through March. In Alaska it lasts from late March to early April.

I Had to sneak around the building(you can see the top of it in the first shot)to get closer. He spotted me and took to flight, I was lucky to get the shot of him flying away.

14. There Are Several Nesting Pairs
of bald eagles in the Washington, DC area. Bertha and I see them sometimes flying near the Potomac river. It's always a thrill to see one of the magnificent creatures, isn't it!
