25. That's me - I chunked some love at "gospel"
I really don't like regular gospel much, but I like bluegrass and much of it can be gospel...

26. exactly
and one of my favorite Stevie Wonder tunes could be considered Gospel, but yeah I love some of the old bluegrass and also a lot of the 60's proto-soul Gospel.

12. Other: all of the above.
Not too big on rap, but I love the Beastie Boys. I don't like new country, but country music from the 40's-60's is great stuff. Else, all the above.

Um ... what was the question?

Oh right, I like blues and rock and roll and folk and alt.country and hip-hop and classical and world and ska and reggae and dub and trance and techno and opera and musicals and jazz and gospel and hymns and chanting and most everything, really. But I only take metal in homeopathic doses.

20. Jam,worldbeat, zydeco, rap. funk, electronica, folk, reggae, rock, blues,
bluegrass, musique concrete, zappa, country, jazz if it played with sincerity.

I have no favorites. I have seen so many bands in so many different styles and they all kick my ass.

But what I really like is bands that don't even fit into any category or many. Like the Grateful Dead. They fill the world between Ornette Coleman and the Carter family..(paraphrasing Bob Dylan)all of the musical universes. Leftover salmon...(poly ethnic cajun slamgrass) whom I have seen with Hip hop guys and banjos. Last week I saw Lyrics Born and about 10 rap, hip hop guys with a symphony orchestra. incredible.

Or even Slightly Stoopid who killed me with the big reggae beats and thrash metal.

With Classical I especially like late Baroque composers like Back and Handel, and late Classical/Early Romantic composers like Beethoven.

40. I don't really have a 'best'
I'd listen to and enjoy just about anything depending on my mood and the quality of the tune(s). I'm more inclined to listen to Folk, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Reggae, Classic or Contemporary Rock and on occasion Classical. However, if any of those I listed are poorly done (in my subjective opinion), I'd be open to listen to a well-done Country tune; which under normal circumstances I'd be least inclined to go for.

If that makes any sense... I seem to be suffering from a bit of communicative dyslexia this morning. Maybe some more coffee...
