He was abandoned at 10 weeks, we adopted today
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 06:33 PM by Omaha Steve

He weighed just 2 lbs when he was abandoned. Somebody loved him. Cared for him. They got him healthy. Marta and I did an emergency adoption this afternoon. His name was Doyle. It is now Doug (from the movie UP).

22. Just want you to know I named my new kitteh Skittles,
'cause he's only 7wks old and he's already terrorized all the other fur babies in the house. He's been here 2wks and he came through the door takin' names and kickin' ass, including mine! He is the biggest, baddest little furball ever!

I'd post a pic if I could remember how to get it from photobucket to DU, but I'm so old, I can't remember what I had for breakfast today.

Anyway, just wanted you to know you now have a namesake. Wanna be his Godmother?

9. Jack Russel mix

So far our other three dogs are accepting him. Running and playing after a few nervous minutes. Doug is 10 months old. He was abandoned when renters moved out and just left him. It's not a good picture. We will have some new ones over the weekend. I'm taking Wednesday & Thursday off to help with training, if you know what I mean.

Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 04:17 PM by backwoodsbob
hope you know what you are in for. :)

They are smart..inquisitive..and DEMANDING

They are a handful but great dogs..would trade mine for a truckload of gold bars

let me edit to add...they are DEMANDING!!!!

my little parson sleeps with us and the two shepps wont DARE to get on the bed...we are hers at that point..she will attack either of them that try to get on the bed at night.

it's funny watching a 100 lb german shepperd bow down to a 20 pound terrier

4. Cutie Patooti!
I do like Doyle as a name though, so not common for a dog. Fun and quirky. :hi:

6. Patooti. That's a funny term. Usually they spell it patootie. But
I think it may be malapropos here.
I think I haven't heard the term since about almost 40 years ago in Ann Arbor, there was a young lady who used that term.
It has a funny sound to it.
But I think it's meant to refer to females.

13. This was an unexpected present

The last couple to adopt him returned him. All the foster parents were full up. He had a bleak future. When I got the email I showed it to Marta. As soon as the previous parents returned him. We picked him up. :-)

They KNOW. And they're incredibly grateful. And, in turn, they rescue us.

26. I have a "rescue" cat. A Maine Coon.
And he knows too. I have no idea how, or why, but he is profoundly grateful. Treats the vet like he has the plague, and anybody else that comes in the door can just eat shit and die, but otherwise he is just slavish in his devotion. They know.
