Probably. He was sort of silly like that.
On the other hand, my mother had one of those low, sexy phone voices and I adored listening to her when she was on the phone with a solicitor. With a small grin she would endure enough of the sales schpiel to determine the nature of the call and then she would break in with that voice:
"Thank you for calling but we're not interested. Goodbye." CLICK
I learned so much about telephone conversation from my folks. I can get through to almost anyone when I'm on the phone and I have them to thank for it.
