2. Maybe his pacemaker batteries are running low.

Uh oh, hope the defibrillator is nearby. Looks like Dick might be in need of a jump start soon.

4. aging fast
I noted a closeup of * the other day and he looks old old old, too. Age spots, wrinkles, sagging skin.

It's a trade-off: peace of mind and years off one's life to enrich a cabal of fat cats.

Cher

11. Does EVERYBODY in this frickin' administration wear cowboy boots?
God, I hate cowboy boots! If you don't rope cattle for a living, but you wear a coat and tie, can you please invest in some nice Bostonians?

BTW, would wearing a clear bubble helmet make me an astronaut? Just looking for a comparison.

12. This is Texas...
...you'd be surprised at how common the practice of wearing boots with a suit is around here (he typed while wearing Bostonians badly in need of a re-sole and re-heel).

13. How much sense does that make?
Would a cowboy, a REAL cowboy now, ride all day and rope cattle while wearing an expensively tailored wool suit? Then why does every golfcart, urban cowboy wannabe feel the need to wear pointy-toed boots? Grow UP, already!

(please excuse my ranting. Sore subject.)

14. I'm with you!
I think it looks tacky at best! I only wear my cowboy boots with jeans, and even then I wear them RARELY. Oh, and mine don't have pointy toes - I have Ropers (black cherry finish from Lucchese, very nice!).

15. Whew! Glad to know I'm not the only one.
I actually like the block toe boots. I once had a pair of blue suede block toe cowboy boots. (It was the '70's) But it seems like every suburban hammerhead who dreams of being a cowboy wears pointy toed boots, chaws terbacky, and drives a pick-up truck. I've seen some cowboy wannabes that real cowboys would laugh themselves sick over.

17. I agree.
Is there any one of them who would actually ride in the saddle for eighteen hours a day in all kinds of weather, doing a bone-jarring, back-breaking job for low wages and bad food? Real cowboys have my respect. The poseurs can take a flying leap.

Denis Leary once said of non-cowboys who wear the boots that they had height issues, and couldn't tie shoelaces. I laughed my ass off when he said that.

18. Here's a little musical interlude for you...
COCA COLA COWBOY
Mel Tillis

I called collect on the phone
You say youre tired and alone
But it sounds like someone else is lying there
She said dont call me no more
Dont you knock on my door
Its too late now, and I know you'll never change
She said....

(Chorus)
Youre just a Coca Cola cowboy
You got an Eastwood smile, and Robert Redford hair
But you walked across my heart like it was Texas
And you taught me how to say I just dont care

She said just leave me alone
And let me hang up this phone
Cause he'll see me cry, and think I still love you
Please don't call me no more
I changed the locks on my door
Its time you understood that we are through
She said....

Youre just a Coca Cola cowboy
You got an Eastwood smile, and Robert Redford hair
But you walked across my heart like it was Texas
And you taught me how to say I just dont care

Guitar solo

She said...
Youre just a Coca Cola cowboy
You got an Eastwood smile, and Robert Redford hair
But you walked across my heart like it was Texas
And you taught me how to say I just dont care

Yes she taght me how to say I just don't care
