Cue the banging head against a brick wall smiley
:banghead:

I have been trying to get a form sent to me via e-mail or fax all fucking day. I need something called a letter of intent to employ me and in the letter it must also state the company's US DOT number. It's a trucking company.

So, I went down the street here to one of those check cashing places that also offers a fax service and got their fax number. I then left a message for the trucking company recruiting department with the number and the need for the letter. I need that letter to get the permanent license plate for my truck. It can sometimes be several hours before the recruiting department gets back to me. I don't know why.

So a few hours later I check for the fax and it's not there. I call the company again and explain the deal on their machine. They call me back later saying that fax number doesn't work. Half the day has gone by, by now. So I tell them to send it to my e-mail address, which I gave them originally as one of the options to get the letter to me. Four hours went by and I finally got the e-mail....EUREKA!

.....except it doesn't have the DOT number on it...FUCK! I will now have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get this straightened out.

1. Try this.
http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx

Search by the name of the carrier.

Confirm it in the morning. Enjoy the evening.

2. Thanks, rug. That was helpful.
They also give some other useful information there. I was also able to find another form online that states their DOT number. Now I will call the IRP office (where I get the plate) in the morning and see if they'll let me roll on that or if I still need it in a letter from the company. I'm thinking they'll be okay with it. I hope so anyway.
