Good lord I got torn down the other night |
|
A friend threw a small, impromptu party for me the other night for my recent resignation and kick-off into my business venture. I usually don't drink a lot, but I was in rare form. Took me a day and a half to recover fully. I used to do that stuff quite a bit and I don't know how now. Anyway, we had a good time and we drank irresponsibly responsibly. No one got hurt and no one did any drinking and driving.

It's fun to do every once in a while... we did with some couple friends while on vacation at Myrtle Beach (after the kids were asleep of course)...

I was singing along to AC/DC at one point and playing truck cab confessional at another. :)

3. In racing, it's slang for the engine being checked for legality |
|
My dad used to do it for a stock car track - I did it for a season for another one. Lots on the line - money, pride, points, "creative" interpretation of the rulebook. Similar to your deal, I used to keep a pint of Yukon with my tools, to distract the hangers-on while the head wrench and I took care of business.

8. I can't remember the name of the book, |
|
but it had an archive of some of the all-time great tech inspection swindles and whitewashes from early NASCAR and Trans-AM...Many of them were probably urban legends, but entertaining nonetheless

9. Truckers have as many stories |
|
About logbooks, the DOT, and the old ICC rules. My uncle just retired from 30+ years of petroleum hauling - I've heard some stories.......

And I am due like no other. Seriously due. I mean alcohol of the finest kind. Staggering, laughing, almost falling down, "I did what??" drunk! It ain't like it used to be, but I find I need at least 1 a year, sometimes 2...this year feels like a 3, if I ever get the chance.
