Post your hobbies and joys
I'm an avid coin collector and chess player.

US Mint, mostly classic and some modern. I literally have an example of every Lincoln cent ever minted. 1909-2007

I'm an E4 player and a big fan of Evan's Gambit and the Fried Liver Attack as white. As black I play the French Defense against E4 and the Albin Countergambit against D4. The Albin Countergambit isn't technically sound but it provides sharp and exciting play, which I love.

6. Art
I love making pictures. I've drawn all my life, not always well, but often. Fifteen years ago I started painting on canvas. Then I was seduced by the computer and I've been working/playing in digital for the last decade. I have a solo exhibition in the local gallery every two or three years and occasionally show a few pics in other places. I sell enough to cover costs, so it's a self-funding hobby.

I also enjoy graphic design. As a kid one of my favourite rainy-day games was making pretend newspapers, in ball-point on folded typing paper. "'Scuse me auntie, would you like a copy of The Daily Blah? Only a penny." Since it was a pretend newspaper I was happy to accept pretend money - I might have been a media mogul, but I was not avaricious.

Music is important to me, I consume lots of it and I like to sing.

Out my back door I can see this landscape. Just looking out there can lift my spirits when they're low.

What a good question, thank you for asking it.

7. I have some collections
Tacky souvenirs from all over the world are on display in my office. And I collect 'malt shop lit,' teenage series books from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. I belong to an internet book club for one of the series and we meet in a different city every summer.

My hobbies are gardening (I am clumsy but determined) and reading mostly. I love to watch sports; the Detroit pro teams and my alma mater, the University of Michigan, but clumsiness and a balance disorder make participation difficult. My joys include travel (I have a goal to travel to every state in the union; my degree is in history and I'm fascinated by the regional differences in the country), spending summer days at the pool, and doing things that are fun with my family and friends.

Nothing very spectacular here but all fun for me.

We train and show them in obedience and agility, although the oldest is "retired" now. We are having fun starting with the new puppy who is a real pistol.

I never wanted to collect things, but I do have quite a collection of Hallmark Christmas ornaments from over the years.

And I garden like a mad woman all summer.

Favorites are Lake Superior Agates, dinosaur bone, petrified wood, quartz crystals, etc. I can spend hours out in the field just looking for rocks and filling up my bucket. Then I take them home and polish them and probably end up giving them away or wife uses them in jewelry.

I have for 20 years. I have over 22 long-boxes worth.

It's been one of the few constants in my life. I love the hobby, I love the art form and I love how it makes me feel.

I'm also a general nerd. I watch anime, cartoons, love movies in general and sci-fi/horror in particular. I love old-school pulp fiction and I read several books a week.

Flying, especially sailplanes. A good flight in a sailplane beats a great flight in a powered plane. Besides, the propeller is only there to keep the pilot cool, because they sure start to sweat when it stops turning.
