1. Malick is an acquired taste.
Creates some amazing imagery, but as one critic said, It's like watching paint dry, but at least it's beautiful paint.

2. This is very true!
I do have to say, I enjoyed the scenes among the "naturals" most. I could have stayed with them the whole movie.

3. I never slept better than at a screening of Days of Heaven
I thought at the time that this was because it was in France and dubbed in French (and I was 17 and only borderline conversant), but perhaps I was mistaken.

4. I loved Days of Heaven without qualification.
I'm a sucker for any movie that uses St. Saens' "The Aquarium" as a theme song.

5. Saw 70mm print of DOH in a theater years ago.
People were literally gasping at some of the imagery.

6. Couldn't watch it.
Couldn't sit through the thin red line or the fountain, I like stories and none of those films made any kind of sense, interested me, or took me in as they failed to connect the dots, pr made me care about the people in them, or answered basic questions I as a viewer felt I needed/deserved to know.

Glad some people enjoy/enjoyed it though.
