Anyone got a cannot fail hamloaf recipe?
Edited on Thu Jul-15-10 01:14 PM by madinmaryland
It's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing...

***Ham Loaf***
3/4 pound ground/minced pork
3/4 pound ground/minced ham
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup fine moist bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste
***Glaze***
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar

Directions:

Ham Loaf: Combine the ingredients well and shape into a loaf, placing it in a roasting pan with a lid.

Glaze: When the loaf is in the pan, mix the glaze ingredients in a bowl and pour over top of the ham loaf.

Cover the baking pan and cook at 350F (180C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, basting the ham loaf with the liquid every 15 minutes.
