Pontiac girls to sell lemonade again after money stolen from stand

In an act of defiance, four little Pontiac girls and an irate mother will be setting up another lemonade stand after their front-yard stand was robbed Sunday afternoon.

Pontiac Police arrested two males and are looking for a third after the girls – Danielle Behan’s 9-year-old daughter, the girl’s 8-year-old twin stepsisters and the granddaughter of Behan’s fiancé – were robbed in the first block of W. Cornell at 3:30 p.m.

Two males, ages 17 and 19, walked up to the stand and bought lemonade from the girls at 3:30 p.m. But as the pair walked away, a third male with them grabbed the girls’ Mickey Mouse jewelry box containing about $40 and ran.

“I chased two of them down myself,” Behan, 35, a toy factory worker, said today. “Oh God, was I mad. Had I not had the little kids at the corner watching, I probably would have hurt them. But I maintained and held them until the Pontiac Police got here and arrested them.”
