2. Michael Keaton's bio
has him born in Coraopolis, but when he was born most of the surrounding towns used the Cory post office. I think I heard he's actually from the Montour area.

For people who follow football Coraopolis' claim to fame would be former college and pro coach Foge Fazio.

43. I'm sorry. I'm so very very VERY sorry.
.
My "growin'-up hometown" was Jackson, Michigan -- thought it was
50,000 in the 70's. It is shrinking... 36,000 in the 2000 census,
down from 37 in the 1990 one.
.
.
Hometown to Ted Nugent now (was originally from around Ann Arbor,
MI... I think).
.
.
And in 1854, it was considered "The Birthplace of the Republican
Party" -- their first convention being held there.
.
.
.
.
My only possible defense is that 6 years later, THAT Republican
party gave us Abraham Lincoln.
.
.
.
To balance things off, Jsckson gave the world MiddleFingerMom and
the Ritz Cracker.
.
The original lyrics to the song were:
.
Now, if you're blue
And you don't know where to go to
Why don't you go where fashion sits
MiddleFingerMom
...
Puttin' on the Ritz.

.
.
.
.
.
I had THOUGHT we were home to not just one, but TWO of the Apollo
astronauts in the 60's -- but I couldn't find anything about that
on quick glance research.
.
.

independence, mo is kinda considered part of the kc area too and ginger rogers and harry truman are from there.

84. No, not tourists; because in truth she was a mean old bitch, no matter
how the people here in town want to spin the facts.

She'd go into Walt's (our Main Street general store) and literally (and I use that word literally) shove people out of the way if they were in line in front of her and bark orders left and right to the staff...and people here thought that behavior was "cute."

Rather than considering her arrogant and bitchy as she was.

Not to try to besmirch the memory of Saint Kate, of course, since you can't do that here in Saybrook...

Because at work I'm debating with another dept on campus about who's responsible for paying the bill for the flyers for his event. I know he was definitely here last fall. I'll have to ask at work tomorrow... was he maybe part of the Engaging Muslims series? Now I'm curious.

102. Reggie Jackson; Benjamin Netanyahu
Cheltenham Township, suburb of Philadelphia.

Reggie Jackson, Cheltenham High School, Class of '64: I was in junior high at the time; my sister was a high school cheerleader. We lived across the street from the high school. I used to go to football games to watch her cheer, and saw Reggie play football. He was, of course, the star athlete of the school, not only in baseball.

Benjamin Netanyahu, CHS, Class of '67: His father was a visiting history professor at one of the Philadelphia-area universities so Ben and his older brother Jonathan (i.e., the one who successfully led the raid at the Entebbe Airport in the 1970's to free hostages, but was killed there; a movie was made of it) went to Cheltenham High School. I knew who Ben was, but never had a class with him, and don't recall any interaction. He was a year ahead of me.

Oxford (England). Lots of people are associated with it by attending the university - including Bill Clinton, and perhaps most notoriously Margaret Thatcher; but I interpreted the question as those who lived here long-term.

I was born and grew up in London. If I named all the celebrities who've lived in the entire city, it would take a very long time. Confining myself to Wimbledon, the place where I mostly lived when growing up: Robert Graves; Oliver Reed; and (the ones I'm always asked about) the Wombles!

119. Hometown--Brett Favre, sort of. Current town--Willie Nelson or Drew Brees.
I grew up on the Mississippi Coast in two towns and a rural district. Brett Favre was from the rural district just north of one of the towns and just west of the other town and of my rural district. Plus, my best friend lived by him, and I spent my summers there. So he's the most famous person from my "town."

Austin--Willie Nelson is my favorite, but Drew Brees is pretty big right now. I could also claim Stevie Ray Vaughn, since Austin claims him, but he was really from around Dallas, and just got famous here.
