How do I get rid of a "friend" on Facebook? I never agreed to being her friend in the first place. |
|
I detest her. I never want to see her face again, anywhere.
I don't know how she ended up being my "friend." How can I erase her from my sight when I go there?

and at the bottom left there should be a link to remove her as a friend.

2. Thank you! What a relief! Will she get a notice that I "de-friended" her? |
|
I hope so. Is there any way I can do that?

3. Just send a message telling her what you think of her and why she was de-friended. |
|
And then post a copy here for our amusement, too :)

6. Now, alluva sudden I can't find her. Don't know what happened. |
|
I want her to know that I do NOT want to "friend" her on Facebook. Ever. She really has her nerve even suggesting me...

But if you have other friends in common, I think you start showing up as a suggestion of someone she should "friend" again, so she would find out that way. It's made it really hard for me to get rid of people without hurting their feelings :-P

8. Send her a friend request now |
|
And when she accepts, immediately de-friend her again }(

17. That's not the best thing for you. |
|
It's obvious that her relationship with you is destructive. The more you are looking to provoke an emotional reaction in her, the more you are also working to trigger and feed an emotional reaction in yourself. It might be best to quietly delete her and not worry from thereon what she is thinking, feeling, etc. Just make a clean break and think of her as not part of your life anymore.

9. You need to "block" her, probably |
|
By the time I deactivated FB I had quite a blocked list!

12. Don't have FB anymore... |

I think you go to their page, and then just click on block (if I remember).

13. You had to have "friended" her in the first place. |
|
People don't magically become your friend, so you must have accepted her friend request at some point.
Easy to defriend and you can block her altogether if you want to.

The vast majority of people seem to be Facebook-retarded. It's a relatively simple website to use.

I tried it for about 2 months and found it to be almost viral. It wasn't so bad to meet up with a few old friends whom I knew I had good relations with but it seemed the creeps came out of the woodwork.

16. If the 'defriending' doesn't work, you can hide her posts |
|
roll your curser/mouse over the right hand side of any post she leaves. A button pops up that says "hide". Click on it and you never have to see her posts again. I realize you WANT her to be defriended, but if you are just annoyed with someone you can do the 'hide' thing.
I have a similar problem, but it is a family member I 'friended' in the early days of FB 'euphoria' (hey! I know some folks here! let's 'friend' them!!)... this family member keeps 'like-ing' conservative folks and causes (Glenn Beck, Ronald Raygun, the Quitter from Wasilla, etc., and little sidebars keep popping up telling me he likes these folks, don't I want to check them out also?? NO! But it's a relative and I don't want the whole 'defriend' hassle so I just 'hide' his posts, which are thankfully few. I think he may have 'hid' me too, I don't see much of him, just his little fan club mentions....

20. I've hidden quite a few of FB "friends" who are people |
|
I grew up with in TX who are major right-wing, religious freaks. Every other comment is praise Jesus-and it's all just dogma-not from the heart at all. I am very spiritual and believe that the Jesus I believe in is very different from the Jesus they believe in. Then they're in this "I want my country back club" and these other groups that sicken me. Instead of 'defriending' them, I just hid them and now I don't see ANY of the things they have to say.
