After 80 weeks of unemployment, hubby finally has a job (sort of)! |
|
Hi all, Just wanted to share some good news. After 80 weeks of unemployment, my husband finally has a job and the salary isn't horribly bad. Ironically, it is with the same company that laid him off in 2008. The not so great news is that it's an 8 week contract and no guarantee of extension. But given that his benefits were about to expire, it's something.
The only question is, after that 2 month contract, if there's no more work, what happens with the unemployment? Does he go back on?
Thanks
Paula

2. Not sure about the unemployment, but Congrats to your |
|
husband and the old adage is true. "It's always easier to find a job when you have a job." Hope it leads to something more stable.

3. depends on the state to collect again |

I believe that in NJ you must have worked 20 out of the previous 52 weeks. It varies in other states, some you must have worked 2 quarters, etc. Google the unemployment office in your state to find out, but I doubt 8 weeks will qualify anywhere
