Tonight I colored my hair for the third night in a row.
Edited on Fri Jul-30-10 08:11 PM by hippywife
There was a huge patch in the front above my forehead that was brash red because the color wasn't covering my very stubborn grey right. So, I've had to redo it a couple of times.

I got in the shower to rinse it out and a big wad came off in my hands. OMG! OMG! OMG! :wow:

Then I realized I was holding my hairnet. I had forgotten to take it off after work. (I do the admin work for our dining services at work, and have to wear one because I have to go into the kitchen frequently.)

Whew!

6. LOL!
I really looked like a psychedelic skunk the past two days. I couldn't take it anymore. It's like I could feel how bad it looked.

The hairdresser at work has been helping me get it to the right shade. She even gave me a bottle of her brown developer to put into the box color I bought. That was so nice of her.

At least there's no damage done to my hair and I can now live with it the color it is. :D

:hi:

8. I once died my hair with black die with hints of blue. It came out very blue. I called the 1 800
clarol emergency number and they told me exactly which color of die to buy and use as an antidote. It worked perfectly!

9. Oh god, how frightening that must have been! Now I know why I
just let the gray come. Of course, most of that is because I am just too lazy.

11. Well, that's been part of the problem.
I let my hair grow quite gray for the first time. It makes it a lot harder to cover up. I wish I hadn't gone back to coloring it. Now I'm kinda stuck with it for the time being.

Chalk it up to mid-life crisis. :hi:

13. Red is a very hard color
to use to cover grey. Reds tend to wash out really easily and can turn white hair pink if you're not using the right color base. Good luck.

14. Yeah, I know.
I've had auburn hair now for decades but when I started, it wasn't very gray at all. It was just a very, very dark boring brown and I was having it professionally done. I have been doing myself now for about 10 years but had never let it go so gray before.

16. Stuck with it now---ain't that the truth! My sister actually got tired of years
of coloring and had to have it professionally stripped somehow to keep from having the two colors of hair you deal with when growing it out. Mid-life crisis is a good excuse for me. I am glad it did work out, for now.

12. Whew! You scared me there
for a moment. Glad your hair turned out alright.

The bravest thing I ever did with my hair was get a small section (very small, and could tuck it away) of hair colored blue!

I love callalillies. They were my wedding flower. I carried just a ribboned bundle of about a half dozen.
