Charlotte fell asleep in my lap again, here's an earlier picture.

Why do some cats just gravitate toward laps?

2. That's one of the reasons cats domesticated humans.
Humans build granaries, granaries attract mousies. Mousies are the cat's best food.

Humans build houses. Houses are for cats to live in and chairs and beds to sleep on.

Humans provide laps. Laps are for cats to sit on while being scratched.

Unfortunately, humans also attract and keep dogs, but as Bowtie the cat says, you have to take the rough with the smooth.

3. Mousies what they love to eat

Mention of 'Mousies' always reminds me of this cartoon.
