Afterburner in particular. Still like the classic stuff though.

5. Well...not enough pre-synth ZZ Top, anyway. |
|
They've actually cut back quite a bit...a couple of their more recent releases were heralded as "back to the basics," and there is a degree of truth in that. I just know that when I'm in the mood to hear a song like "Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell," the last song in the world I want to hear is "Sleeping Bag."

15. Is that right? I don't know chords from corpses, so I always |

assumed there were multiple chords in that song. Leave it to ZZ to do nore with less.

24. doesn't necessarily make it easy or simple |
|
Young players often assume that the fewer chords there are in a tune, the easier it is to play. This is true only on the level of fretboard shape shifting. On a one chord tune, like "Boogie Chillun" the complexity lies in the feel and dynamics. This involves very close coordination between the hands, and a very strong sense of time and development. FIGURE 1 is a rhythm figure like "Boogie Chillun." The original is played in open A tuning; this example is adapted to standard tuning. The emphasis falls on the upbeats of the shuffle, rather than the downbeats a common feature of "boogie" riffs, as they have come to be known. It can be played with the pick alone, thumb and fingers, with the pick playing the downbeats and the fingers (middle and ring) playing the upbeats. http://www.e-tabs.org/viewlesson.php?lid=11

21. After "Deguello" they lost all perspective and creativity. |
|
They were one of the alltime great bands that traded on their popularity and put out what they thought were what was the public wanted, instead of just creating more great music. In other words, they just coasted.

25. I beg to differ. I think there is entirely too much ZZ Top in this world. |
|
A little less ZZ Top would have left me wanting more, but too much Top left me needing less. You know the albums of which I speak. :)
