A new poem: Chord
his hand struck down
across the strings

the chord sang
strange
wonderful
deepening tones

his words spoke
across
that chord
as he played
out

I was breathless
struck dumb

even now
I feel it

cascading
vibrating
his
guitar
sang
a melancholy
song

delicate passionate
of love of loss of life

Chord

by this man
as I watched and felt
the music of his words
and his hands
and his strings

in that
thundering sonorous

chord

2. My dear NYC_SKP!
Ah, I thank you!

This is actually based on a performance I heard last week at the open mic...

It was stunning.

3. Lovely as always, CalPeg ...
It reminds me of my many passions, so long ago, for musicians who struck chords in my soul that resound to this day.

I married some of them - and gave birth to one along the way.

All artists in their time, now and again - and finally found myself an artisan who not only plays the notes, but understands their true meaning, as well as their impact.

4. My dear Nance...
Chords are fascinating things, are they not?

Impact is so important.

Thank you, sweetie...

Good as your word, not that I doubted you for a moment...

I feel it . . . "

Yes, that's my life now. :)

Darn, CAPeggy. You're telling me the story of my life, honey.

How do you DO that?? :)

6. My dear kimi!
I am? Wow.

I have no idea how I do it.

The words show up, and demand to be written down, and I write them down.

Thanks, sweetie...

7. Is this to say...
...that he was killing you softly with his chord, while his guitar gently wept?

8. My dear Systemic Chaos...
I guess you could say that.......but that weren't his songs. Those are among my favorites from long ago.

9. Sorry to weigh in so late Miss Peg.
That is divine! The reverberation of harmony so deeply taken in and to peel apart its components with but an instant to do so. So attentive. I'm guessing not many have fooled you and the ones that tried didn't succeed for long.

Hi ya.

10. My dear jotsy!
Hey, it's never too late, as far as I'm concerned...

And thank you for your incisive comments. I love hearing the guitar played well, so I was paying attention to this gentleman...

It's not often that a chord alone catches my imagination the way this one did; in fact, I don't think any chord ever did that before.

Glad you enjoyed it, sweetie!
