True Blood - Aug 8 Episode (spoilers) |
|
Wow, what an ending. Eric is going to have hell to pay. I love that actor. That ending scene with Sookie and Bill was the hottest scene yet on this show. I am so hoping Lafayete finds some happiness with Jesus, but I keep waiting for the other show to drop.

1. Yeah about Jesus - I worry that he too is something else |

I mean so far we don't have a Satan. Maybe Jesus is really a devil or something. I am thrilled that Eric is screwing with Russell and I hope that the previews with Pam are about stuff she's doing to Russell.
Now who will be coming to take care of the beheaded magisters murderer, besides Eric? I wonder who the authority really is.

3. I thought the episode started out slow but in the end - WOWZA WOWZA |
|
There is going to be alot of Vamp Hell after what Eric did to Russell although he did break up my favorite couple on True Blood - Russell & Talbot!

4. It is moving slow at times |
|
I wished they would cut through all the Sam and family stuff. I don't find it that interesting. I fell bad seeing Talbot go, but Eric is not one to be messed with. Russell is going to flip out.

5. Wow -- the past few episodes... |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-09-10 01:23 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
have ended with quite the dramatic flourish! :wow: So much laid down in this episode -- I had to watch the repeat to catch it all.
I don't know what I liked better: Debbie's line about "killing her Cooter", Jason's about Sookie's potental braim damage, or Bill's "Way" to Jessica. :D The writers really do slip in some of the most fun writing bits.
Ruby Jean and La La: So, it appears his "crazy" Mom is sensitive to superaturals -- and that her La La may have a secret himself he is unaware of. I really love Alfre in this role -- I can't wait to see if she ends up off her meds at some point and we see who Ruby Jean is really about. When Jesus told her he would make sure to watch out for Lafayette she immediately handed over the knife, as if she knew something about Jesus that she trusted. So, what is Jesus???
I liked how Tommy is now calling himself Tommy Merlotte. Great scene between Mom, Sam, and Tommy -- I am really liking the actor who plays Tommy -- he's got that aggressive, terratorial dog thing down pat. I loved the two brothers "smelling" the Hot Shot crew before they walked in. Tommy is going to be more than a handful for Sam -- I have every confidence he will look back more than once and wonder what the fuck he's done in taking in his brother. Tommy vs. Hoyt -- Chihuahua vs. Great Dane. :D
I loved the Bill/Jessica scenes -- good on her for calling Bill out on his crappy parenting, and good on Bill for recognizing the truth of what she was saying. I think we need to see more baby vamp training time -- that was fun!
We missed you, Rene! I guess old characters never really go away in the AB Sookieverse. :D Poor Arlene -- she's gone all Mia Farrow in "Rosemary's Baby" with this pregnancy. I so adore Terry -- he is goig to be crushed when he finally figures out the baby isn't his. But, being Terry, he may just not care about that at the end of it and want to raise the baby as his own. I loved how Arlene called out Sam on his sleeping with his waitresses. And now we have Holly -- clearly something more than what she appears to be. Merlotte's will soon be Bon Temps supe central.
Eric is going to be SOOOO in trouble! Just when we were gonna get some full-on hot vamp on vamp action, Eric gets a case of premature staking. :( Boo hiss. Though I did like how he used the ancient scroll of vamp erotica to do the deed. I hope Eric has a serious plan -- it is only going to take Russell a few minutes to make his way home and possibly find a bloody and nekkid Eric still standing over the gooey mess that was his husband.
V fueled chick fight! I loved that so much.
Alcide! Don't go! I loved how he was smelling her before he went. It made me squee a bit in my panties. Sigh.
How many more episodes in this season??? It will be over too soon, I am sure.
On edit: I just checked, only 4 more episodes -- the last one is Sept. 12.

Wow, that went fast. Its been a really good season. I could not believe we saw Rene. He was such a great character. He was the perfect killer. I wonder what the new waitress is (PLEASE DON'T TELL US IF YOU HAVE READ THE BOOKS). I love all the supes coming to Merlotts too. Its like Ricks in Casablanca, but for Supes.
Eric will figure something out. All he has to do is get something Russell wants more than revenge. Russell is too smart to let his love for Talbot get in the way of power and Eric knows it. I suspect Eric will get on Team Nan and eventually turn on her too. Thats why I love team Eric. So it looks like Bill will tell Sookie what she really is. Thats not going to go well for him. Sorry dear, but I have been spying on you for the Queen and you are a supe.
I am intrigued by the Jason/Crystal thing. She is obviously a were, so he is in danger, but I think she has fallen under the Jason spell. This can't end well for Jason, but things always seem to end well for him. Luckiest sob in the show. I love to cheer against him, yet I am happy for him when it all works out. That Jason spell works on me too.
I am hoping for happiness for Lafayette and Jesus. I love Lafayette's character, but he is forever sad. I'd like something good to happen to him. I doubt it, but still hope. I'm calling a very bad ending. Jesus is too good to be true. He is there for something.
I love the new Jessica, tearing up werewolves and being a badass vampire. she rocks. Hoyt and that little summer girl are through. Jessica is gonna go get her man.

7. Damnit I wish they would do more than 12 episodes a season |
|
I mean that crap on network & cable TV is usually 18-22 episodes. But I do suspect that by keeping it at 12 episodes it allows the actors in the show to be involved with other projects throughout the year.

HBO does not get much ad revenue from these shows, so they can only offset costs with subscriber fees. Its not like LOST where they can sell ads and get 15 million viewers. So they have to limit show runs to afford the shows. That said, they make good shows. I was gonna drop after TB, but I am gonna stick around a few weeks to see how Boardwalk Empire goes, the Scorsese/Steve Buscemi show.

9. I have to agree about Boardwalk Empire. Normally I do not like 'Gangster' movies |
|
I just never caught on to 'The Sopranos' even though what I watched was extremely well done and well-acted. But I just adore Steve Buscemi and think this is going to be a really awesome series. So I'm going to try it out. I hope to watch the old episodes of 'Treme' and hopefully the latest season of 'Big Love'

11. I think I lost Big Love |
|
this past season. I political run and announcement at the end, the casino, the washington politics ... It just got too big for me. I liked it better when it was just the family. I think I am done with big Love.

12. I kinda lost it at the season before that |
|
which is why I didn't renew my HBO for Big Love. I figured I'd just catch it "On-Demand" but it hasn't been available yet. Eventually I will watch it.

10. HBO and SHO have the absolute best shows in my opinion. |
|
I recently changed my satellite plan to make it less expensive and told the person I only needed those two channels since they are all I watch. I got rid of so many channels including CNN and Faux News (had it blocked anyway)... I cut my bill in half but still get HBO and Showtime.
