Penn and Teller on Cash Cab Las Vegas |
|
Cash Cab is in Las Vegas and Penn & Teller made an appearance. When asked if they wanted to risk all their winnings on a video bonus question, Penn said, "What you need to realize is that this is for charity, not for us... so let's risk it all!!!" Just the way he said it made me LOL. They lost it all of course but replaced the lost money with their own which Cash Cab matched.
Video should be up soon. The answer to the question that tripped them up was 'Nobel Gases.'

4. I think it would be easier than most game shows |
|
At least there's no studio audience.

7. Which elements have a special name because they don't bind with other elements? |
|
Noble gases. Noble as in "snobbish".
The ones at the end of the row on the right in the Periodic Table. Neon, Argon, Xenon, Helium.
Their outer shells are full so they must be at extremely high temp and pressure to combine with anything. Used in neon signs.
I don't even have a chemistry degree!! :D I have a biology degre1 But I loved inorganic chemistry!

9. I took a few chemistry classes, never called them Noble gases |
|
Just inert gases.
Noble gases would involve Queen Elizabeth II and a plate of beans.

11. The show originally started in London. So New York was actually |
|
an additional city. I like the show. Lots of fun. I just saw yesterday two comedians getting out of the cab in Las Vegas, Carrot Top, and some chubby guy, I forget his name. I saw 2 minutes of it. They won and went into a casino. It looks like they have gone to Las Vegas for a 'celebrity' series. Rather than the 'celebrity' junk, I liked the idea that it was just ordinary people who got into the cab. dc
