He'll be a year old the end of September.

No big news, I just wanted to brag....

1. Another Boston Lover here...
The late, Great Mr. Beau Brummel (Mr. BB);

I call the above shot "The Elegant Tourist".

Here he is sucking his thumb, so to speak;

He used to do that all the time. Fold his right paw and suck on the wrist. If he did it on the bed, he would leave a huge wet spot from the drool! BB was the most gregarious animal I ever knew. He just loved everybody and didn't have a mean bone in his body. But he wouldn't put up with any crap, either. I saw him turn on and face down a German Shepard/Wolf mix that was harassing him. The Shepard was easily four times his size.

Basie looks to be a cutie! May he live a long and healthy life.

Mr. BB left me 6 years ago. Haven't been able to have another dog yet, but I still miss him terribly. Had Bostons in our family all my life. Great dogs.

5. Beau was a beautiful dog.
Basie's my fourth Boston. I lost my last one, Maggie, last summer to a heart problem. She was 12 years old. I got Basie the following November, after swearing I'd never have another dog--famous last words.

Bostons are the absolute best dogs. Every one I've had has been totally amazing. Basie's a real handful right now because he's so young and energetic (to say the least). He's getting "snipped" the first of next month, and I'm hoping he calms down a bit. He just go, go, goes until he drops, but I wouldn't trade him for anything.

6. That's EXACTLY who he's named for.
I just thought it was the perfect name for a Boston boy.

8. For a while I thought his ears were going to be curled.
When they started standing up, they curled back on themselves for quite a while, but they finally straightened out. It's amazing to me that they did that naturally.
