I haven't been motivated to go to a state fair in decades, but...
.
.
.
Get set for the Sixth Annual Big Tex Choice Awards as 2010 State Fair of Texas
vendors vie for Best Taste & Most Creative. Earlier this month, participants
submitted recipes; the field has now been narrowed to eight. FYI: Two of the
entries require IDs. Purchasers must be 21.
.
.
.
.
Fried Beer - Beer-filled pretzel pocket is deep-fried to a golden brown. One bite
and the escaping beer serves as a dipping sauce. 21 and over, ID required.
.
.
.
.
Deep Fried Frozen Margarita - Sweet and creamy funnel cake batter is deliciously
coupled with margarita ingredients. Fried, dusted with a tangy lemon/lime mixture
and lightly spritzed with south of the border flavor, it’s served in a salt rimmed
glass. 21 and over, ID required.

3. I don't know how long Shiner Bock has been around, but I trained outside of San Antonio...
.
.
.
.
...at Ft Sam Houston in the early 70's. Starting around dinnertime, the lunch trucks
would have some food and sodas, etc. -- but mega-amounts of cans of beer.
.
Lone Star and Pearl were the main ones I remember (maybe the ONLY ones available).
.
.
.
.
No offense... I was a very inexperienced beer drinker, so virtually ANY beer would
have tasted like ambrosia to me, but those two sucked as bad as Old Milwaukee
did in my later years.
.
.
.
I've heard good things about Shiner Bock, though.

5. Shiner Bock is awesome stuff...but it's hard to find around my area
when we were vacationing in North Carolina a few years back ( Outer Banks ) we found the Shiner Bock..
My nephew made such a big deal of it, he bought a case ( there was a ton of other brands there ) I said I would try it, and I did....and it was some good stuff

Then again, I always experiment with beers..

2. Day-um!
I think I needs me to go a fair this here weekend.

That deep-fried frozen margarita -- combined with funnel-cake -- hell, even WITHOUT an ID required, I'd feed it to each and every one of my chilluns.

Oh, and guzzle me down a dozen or two meself.

6. That is exactly what I've been lacking all of my life.
Deep fried adult beverages. Why didn't I think of it first?
