1. Not anymore
Been checked for h pylori? I was back when they first figured it out and the treatment was gross and took forever (now it's pretty simple and easy) but boy am I glad I did it. Just the memories make me wince in sympathy for you. Hope you feel better!

3. Absolutely! Please do!
One part of my treatment - besides two kinds of antibiotics - was over-the-counter Pepto-Bismo tablets; apparently the bismuth is very effective.

Not medical advice! Get that from a real doctor!

11. Had a bleeding one and didn't know it. Eventually, it made itself known.
My skin turned white, I mean sheet white. My lips were turning blue. I had periods where I couldn't stand without feeling like I was going to just fall over.

I was passing blood out of my system and didn't realize it. Went to a doc, no insurance, as now. She begged me to go to the hospital, insurance or not. Arranged for a doc to slide some tube down my throat and cauterize (?) it. She insisted I go that very minute.

Now, here is an uncomfortable thing to ask you, but are you passing blood? Is your stool black? Push down on your finger tips and then let go? Do they stay white for a long time? If any of this is true, get to a doctor right away.

Trust me. I was in the hospital for a couple of days. Had transfusions. Had to take iron supplements. Slowly and finally, I got back to normal. My original doc said another day or two and I could have died. This isn't something to play around with.
