OK, I need a good briefcase that will double as a carry-on when I fly
so it will need to have sturdy closures (no simple magnetic closure at the top; needs to zip). Can be a messenger bag, it doesn't have to be a formal briefcase. Sturdy canvas or nylon is fine.

Haven't bought one in ages - anyone have any suggestions of bags they like?

Thanks :hi:

1. I take my briefcase to work everyday and it doubles as a carry
on when I have to fly. It's not the hard kind but one that is flimsy because you can get more in it. You can buy one at Target that's very reasonably priced and looks professional.

2. Booq makes some good messenger bags
I use one when I have to take my Mac on a trip. Makes good use of space and compartments. booqbags.com. Also timbuk2 has a few good designs. timbuk2.com

I like the booq because one of the compartments zips open at the bottom as well as the top, so it can serve as a pass thru for using with rolling luggage or as a roomy storage compartment. It also has pockets for easy access to phones, chargers, etc., as well as places for papers/files.

There are probably a lot of others out there.

3. DO you have a Marshall's store?
I was looking for a laptop bag but I also needed room for files and books. I found a bag in the luggage section of the store that works out perfectly and it can double as a carry-on.
