1. Yet another incredibly beautiful Band song
So glad I got to see them, even just the one time I did ( but what a one time...opening night of their '74 tour with Bob Dylan)
Saw Levon with the RCO All-Stars once too (with Russell Smith of the Amazing Rhythm Aces, and he was really good too) ...at a free outdoor show .

3. I'm really glad that you got to see them...
I have been going to shows since the very 70's, but the closest I have come to seeing The Band was when they opened for the Grateful Dead at The Carrier Dome in Syracuse NY in 1983. Unfortunately, Robbie was not with them, and I think that Richard had died by that time. So really, I didn't consider them to be the full "The Band", but they were pretty good anyway. I remember "Mystery Train" being one of the best songs they performed at that show. :hi:

5. i actually almost saw that version of the Band too, and I'm sure they were still great
a relatively small place; this may have been the mid or even late 80's??....anyway, my buddy Jake and I got there pretty late due to circumstances beyond our control (which may or may not have involved getting drunk in a topless bar) and the show was at least half over by time we got there, but the guy at the door was still charging full price; we tried to bargain and he wouldn't budge so we left.

2. Great song
Byron Berline's fiddle fits in well with their musicianship
