Half of option #3. Someone employed by him or more likely several, does in fact read DU, DKos and probably even sites more critical of him such as FDL or on the far extreme FR. That's just good policy.
I certainly doubt he gets a daily DU brief though.

2. In private WH meetings, he refers to "the Boehner" as "the moran". |
|
And the only thing he calls Palin is "Lady Blah Blah".

8. I don't think he does, but I wouldn't dout that Plouffe or Alelrod have peeked in |
|
...or that the tone and message here is flitered up to them. I do believe a lot of local party leaders and activists (i.e. the foot soldiers) are on DU.

|
Since he's busy running a country and all. Maybe some people who work for him do, though.

10. DU may come up if it's a discussion in the other big forums... |
|
... but if it's here in the Lounge, then just forgetaboutit... he won't be seeing it anytime soon.
Not even the LOLcat compliations.

11. He very well could be a DUer. That would explain why he's always down in the White House basement... |
|
... and never spends enough time going out and kicked Republican ass, which is what I elected him to do. Well, that and run the country between ass kicking sessions. But really the emphasis should be on beating up on Republicans, as that will make his job easier.

13. I mentioned DU to many in the campaign. Plouffe checks , probably not so much any more |
|
If you're a complete working for the guy party person, DU does not figure into any equation. It's rare at party functions* that anyone is aware of DU. I figure in Cal, maybe 10% have heard of , and about half of them might post. At the national events, it's more like 1 out of 100. I make a point of asking at every event, like the recent Party Convention in LA at the JW Marriot. So far, I've never met anyone who posts regularly. Hell, GD and GDP has gotten so toxic I don't post there with any regularity. I know a few staffers at WH in their 20's who skim DU. Most think DU is just keyboard commandos, and I can't disagree with that.
* I'm an A.D. Delegate, longtime Dem Party operative, and member of the State Central Committee. I've worked on every presidential campaign since 1972. I've also worked with Gray Davis and Phil Angelides campaigns, Barbara Boxer's first ,third and recent campaigns, and of course worked with the Howard Dean campaign 2003-4.

Maybe at one time. But I've eased off on DU when I've had different jobs. When it's busy, I am hardly on.... and Obama is a hell of alot busier than I've ever been.

the blogs are saying about certain issues and I would include the DU in that important blogosphere.
