I just bought a painting on canvas of this (see below). The forest in it will
forever remind me of the forest at my parents cottage that they are selling tomorrow. Interesting that they can now put prints of famous paintings on framed canvas. Anyhow we had alot of fun with friends up at the cottage. Bye bye Grand Lake

1. Nice painting, do you know if it's of a real place?
I know how much you love your cottage and its environs!
I mentioned to you a while back about the island in Maine where I only went about ten times, but I love it, so I can only imagine how it is to have grown up spending time in a beautiful place every summer. Do you have many photographs taken there over the years?
My brothers don't love 'my island' as much as I do, but 28 years ago, when we were in our early thirties, I rented the cottage next door to the one we went to as children, and my brother, his girlfriend, my old best friend and her two little kids, and I spent several days there. I often think about going again, but it's almost 3,000 miles away. I look up articles about it on the internet, and look at my old photos, and dream about it.

2. We have quite a few pics. Mostly of the rock garden. I don't know if the painting was of a real
place. emily carr turned to painting the wild forestlate in her career. She traveled by canoe up the west coast of BC to first nations villages. The painting is called "indian church".
