4. Awesome
I'm glad to see school newspapers are still thriving. After I left high school, where I was a news editor, they were trying to phase out journalism.

Have fun with the interview.

6. What is the interview about?
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 11:15 PM by WilliamPitt
The easy tricks to interviews:

1. Make sure you have all your data organized in mind;

2. When you get a question that bores you or misses the mark, throw up a super-quick answer for the given question and then go tangent: "That reminds me of Bush's tryst with Dolly the sheep," etc.

You'll be great. :)

On edit: Because it is high school, you can quiz the interviewer. "Why did 9/11 happen?" you ask. Blank stare. Explain it. "Why did the Iraq war happen?" Blank stare. Explain it. Teach the kiddies.

11. Congrats!
That is a great HS reporter to think about interviewing you. I bet it's fun.

My advice, don't lecture or act condescending. I know you wouldn't but sometimes it is hard and teens are super sensitive to that. The reporter may know a lot or little. Just listen to them and have fun.

12. Thanks cally
I want to focuss on supporting the Troops
and give a face to "anti-bush - pro-troops"

I plan on discussing my experience with Vets
thanking me for my stand , so the kids know
that Democrats are in the Military and have
little voice in the media .

I want to thank her for the interview and intrest
in my opinion .

I will mention the 27 million dollars allocated to
fill draft board positions and to prepare to reinstate
the draft.

I will encourage them to not take my word for it ,
but go out and seek the information for themselves .
I will try to offers tools and ideas for that search.

I plan on metioning some websites and radio programs
that offer opposing views of the issues of the day .

I will also offer quotes from great Americans that
help guide me in my quest to be an informed citizen.

I hope I can make a difference and am honored by the chance .

16. Update ...The Interview went really well
She spent an hour here . Taped the whole thing .

I feel I got the messege out that I intended
Thanks for the advise Will and especially all
the encouragement everyone , I was pretty nervous .

She had lots of questions about the Gadsden flag
and was eager to learn . I stayed pretty well focussed
on the Constitution The troops , and the Vets and Families
of enlisted I've talked personally .

I was able to mention , the dissappointment I feel
that so few Americans actually Vote . When I know from
first hand experience the one person can make a difference .

I'm feeling really good about the whole thing .
Once we started I just did what came naturally.
