My friend is dying

the meds, the treatment, the prayers aren't working. He can barely hold the phone to his head to talk to me. I suck at this......

1. Hang in there. It is tough, but the best you can do is offer support and hide your angst from him.

That in no way is intended to suggest you suppress your feelings, but rather that you try to avoid sharing them with him. He just needs to know that you care about him and are his friend.

I've lost friends, as well as family, and it is never easy. Death always seems to be easier for the one who is dying than the ones who remain.

Losing a friend can be harder than losing a parent. It was for me. It was too much of a shock. More than I could bear. One of the worst moments of my life.
