Can you ever get a refund on airline tickets? Even a partial refund? |
|
Or if you buy the tickets are you just stuck with them?

1. Did you buy a fully refundable ticket? |
|
If not, you will get a credit of what the flight is, minus the airline change fee. Call the airline and find out

2. Well, this hasn't happened, but I was wondering, what if it did. |
|
I mean, I'm sure it must happen lots, people plan to fly somewhere and then fate causes them to change their plans.

3. Some airline tickets are refundable, but they are almost always at a higher fare |
|
Normally, the lower priced airline tickets come with penalties for changes and are non-refundable.
Read the rules before you purchase your ticket online. If you buy it over the phone, or through a travel agent, ask. Also, know if the ticket is non-transferable or not. That means, after it's purchased, you cannot transfer to ticket to another person. All the major carriers have this policy.
Hope you find the ticket you need & your plans aren't forced to change!

4. Maybe if you buy the ticket and then ask for a refund before they've finished building the plane. |
|
Other than that, probably not and they might hit you with a $40 surcharge just for calling to ask.
