When I played it for her, she was blushing and giggling and so proud. She gave me a huge hug; it was a special moment for us. She said, “Dad, I can’t stop laughing” and she had tears in her eyes.
Three years ago, when she was six, she wanted to record a ‘scary’ song for her dad and uncle’s 3rd album (God Damned Halloween). We set up the recorder and she improvised the song in a single take. I am so proud of her song and the many other songs we have worked on through the years.
So, if you are brave, you can listen to ‘Skeleton Run’ here:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/radiation-therapy/110556166448?v=app_2405167945&ref=tsIt is for sale on iTunes, amazon, eMusic, and shockhound. The free tunecore Halloween promo podcast is also on iTunes.
Thanks for ‘listening’ to a proud dad who will cherish his daughter’s recordings his entire life.
Skeleton Run
The skeletons walk up the stairs all around
They dance and dance when they fall down
They run around all everywhere
Then they fall down; they die, but they come back.
They run to the humans see them nice
But they’re mean sometimes if they’re mean
But they don’t care
If I don’t the girls will go and die.
I don’t care, fairies run
From the monsters, from the Sun
Then you run.
The skeletons run down the stairs
Up and down
Run in circles and turn upside down
They turn around spin upside down
They stand on their heads when they look –
Skeleton Run!
And cut your head off!
