My 13-year old son is asking for Pink Floyd songs on his MP3 player |
|
He heard me listening to The Division Bell album - now he can't get enough.
I'm digitizing my entire Pink Floyd collection so he can listen to it.
Who says there's no hope for future generations?

2. And he can look for the bootlegs for ya after he's hooked |
|
Trust me, this will be win-win
Because there are a TON of Floyd and LedZep bootlegs out there, on the net, in differing levels of quality

4. That's why I had a kid |
|
So he can search out new Floyd material for me.
Just think if I had had TWO kids. I could send the other one after Led Zep boots

3. The Division Bell got him hooked on Pink Floyd? |
|
If he liked that, I can't imagine his reaction when he heard an actual Pink Floyd album :hippie: And here, in their final performance...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EecfMxY1CAM

5. I saw the Division Bell tour in '96 in Toronto |
|
He was there as a zygote swimming around in my wife's uterus.
I think that had something to do with it.

6. Imagine dropping a little Meddle, Animals...on him |
|
Set the controls for the heart of the Sun and see if he appreciates an "actual" album. Dark Side, Wall, Wish You Were....

13. Marooned is a really good song off of that disc, instrumental |
|
After Final Cut, I refused to buy any more Pink Floyd, but now may have to go out and get Division Bell just for that song.

12. Spent all this morning ripping DSotM |
|
And downloading MP3 tags and album images.
Another Floyd-head has been created.
I'm so proud.

My friends and I went to a Pink Floyd laser light show last year. Needless to say it was one of the most disorienting things I've ever seen.

14. I'm a Floyd fan in general, but a big fan of the two Waters-less studio albums |
|
Whenever I listened to Floyd, I was pretty mush listening for Gilmour, whether Waters was present or not.
"Momentary Lapse Of Reason"...the first CD without Waters...has "Sorrow," and the lyrics "There's an unceasing wind that blows through this night, there's dust in my eyes that blinds my sight, a sorrow that speaks so much louder than words, of promises broken..." and then Gilmour just STEPS on the whammy bar and WAILS into the song's fade.

17. I'm a counselor at a college and all of the kids love The Beatles.. |
|
as do my son and nephews. It's awesome that your son is into Pink Floyd. There are a few bands whose music is so incredible that I honestly believe they will be loved for all of time (I know that sounds dramatic but it's true).

18. My daughter is flipping out over "The Wall" |
|
She discovered I have it on vinyl from the original release. She can't get enough of it lately. It reminds me of my reaction when I first discovered it when I was around the same age.
