My husband used to study them! Muonic molecules...
And we had a cat named Muon. She was our sub-atomic cat!

That's pretty cool about his studying them. Particle physics is fascinating, but it goes way over my head fast! If you ever have another cat, especially a very affectionate one, you should call it Gluon :P
At the moment, my cat (named by my past-wife after another black cat she had, i.e., Kipper) is staring at me wanting another sniff of my dessert. The whiff he got of the Grand Marnier and Sabra wasn't to his liking the first time, but he's back as if it's changed ;)
