Let's try again. Can anyone recommend a nonallergenic kitty litter which SHE WON'T TRY TO EAT? |
|
World's Best Kitty Litter (corn-based) is serving as an hors d'oeuvre. I understand that I'm supposed to add it gradually to the old type litter to habituate her to it, but suspect that if I did, she would still be eating it, then pooping on it, which creeps me out more than a little.
S'Wheat Scoop is out, as I'm celiac.
Any other suggestions?

1. Look for alfalfa based pellets |
|
There are also pine pellets, I think. Stay away from corn. They will eat that. Corn is watt makes dry food so appealing (and unhealthful) to kitties.

2. yes, I saw pine chips at the store. |

They are about the size of grape nuts. Not as easy on the feet as the corn stuff probably.
I wonder if you telephoned Arm & Hammer customer service if they could point you to something good.

Their scoopable version is okay. It doesn't clump like World's Best, but it's not bad. Smells really nice, too. Did you try the regular or multi-cat WBCL? The multi-cat formula has yucca in it. She might not eat that version of it.
I have used crystal kitty litters in the past. Gave up on them because tracking issues. However, they have come out with different versions of it over the years, and had I not gotten fond of the corn-based litters, I might have gone back to them on a trial basis.

4. Just fill the box with all the pills the vet wants you to give her. |

5. I've seen some made from pellets of compressed recycled newspaper... |
|
...Maybe that would work?

they make two kinds, one worked better than the other but I can't remember which
I think the difference in two kinds were scented and unscented

Petco has their in-house brand that is cheaper and is exactly the same thing. :hi:

7. Sorry to laugh, but that's hilarious! (I use World's Best) |

My cats are on Rx food, and here's how weird they are: they LOVE their Rx food and won't eat anything else (it's Royal Canin, not Science).
Seriously, I agree with trying the Multicat formula and changing her diet. If she's eating a commercial diet, she may not be getting enough nutrients (especially protein). A no-corn/high protein diet may convince her that her litter is for crapping, not snacking!
