What unusual toy does your cat seem to be his/her favorite?
Mine is into bread ties. I have them put away, and she ALWAYS seems to magically end up finding one I missed.
What non-traditional toys are your cat's favorites?

:) LOL, our 6 month old just saw dust in the air lit up by the sun for the first time, she is batting at the air (I guess that means I need to dust today and vacuum) :)

1. Something long and rather thick in girth she found in the bathroom.
A toilet paper tube. Now WHAT were you thinking?

2. A harness
bought back when I came up with the misguided idea that it would make it easier to get a leash on her so I could take her outside. I got the collar buckled, but when it came time to fasten the strap across her chest for the first time, it was like being mauled by a tiny, angry lion. It's all buckled together now and I see her flinging it through the air when she's feeling playful, so it's not a total loss, I guess. :)

4. Electrical cords
One of my boys gets excited when we have company, and runs into the spare room where he rubs on his favorite electrical cord plug, which goes to the unused sewing machine in the room. He'll rub on that plug for 5-10 minutes straight. He also enjoys biding shoelaces, and I have to warn visitors about that...he'll walk up to their shoes and then puncture their laces with his fangs.

5. Lego Stormtrooper Helmets.
The kids have about a bazillion legos, and the cat will go into the room, get a Stormtrooper helmet and play with it all over the house. When we finally take it away, she will sneak off and get another one.

I once found seven of them behind the couch.

6. Milk jug rings
One of my three cats likes to play with the plastic ring that comes off the milk jug just under the cap. He rolls it around, chases it, carries it in his mouth, and he gets a new one every few days when I start a new milk jug.

If she finds them she nudges or scoops them off whatever onto the floor. Then she alternately plays floor hockey with them, and picks them up in her mouth to bring them to another floor hockey location.

14. The refrigerator
Seriously. When our dearly departed alpha male was a young 'un, he used to play hockeyhockeyhockey with just about anything--usually milk jug rings, but anything that would skid along the kitchen tiles was fair game--and he would whap said item under the fridge ON PURPOSE, then just lie there on his side and look up at us: "Pwease get it out for meeeee?" We kept a cafe curtain rod that we found in a corner after the previous owners moved out right by the fridge specifically for retrieving kitteh toys. Kept the underside of the fridge dust free, too.

17. One of my cats looooves plastic bags.
He'll sit inside them licking the handles for hours. Sometimes I pick the bag up and he'll let me carry him around or swing him back and forth. He also loves it if I put the bag so the opening is on the side and then shake the back a little so he can attack it. And he loops his head through the handles on purpose and then runs around with the bag like a cape crying for me to take it off.

The same cat also loves being carried around in the laundry hamper or having fingers poked at him when he sits in it.

Here he is sitting in a bag of toilet paper rolls, ready to rumble:

27. Mumbles, my fat insane calico, loooooves anything red. She has gone through several Red rubber balls
one is so torn up...it is one of those squishy stress balls....half of it is gone because she plays soccer with it, and then carries it around in her mouth, drops it, lays/sits on it and attacks it with her claws.

She also likes grapes--she can play soccer with it, and lick the juice at the same time.

She had fun with some OB Tampons (for those of you who don't know, they're just the tampon, no applicator). I got a box free in the mail..not something i'll ever use, so I let her play with them. She just loved those tampons

Oh! and drinking straws. She especially likes the large green ones from Starbux. She prefers ones with paper on them, but will take any she can get.

Like the other kitty above, she is in love with plastic bags and will lick them for hours.

Her adopted brother, Pickles, the white cat, loves razors, like lady gilette or whatever. We have to keep them up very high in the shower...he likes to not only bat them around, but chew on the razor blade part :shudder: We once moved the TV stand and there were no lie about 8 razors back there, and chewed up and with blood spots. It was extremely horrifying.

Mumbles--she is very smart :*

SHe liked the rubber fetus I stole from the pro-life booth at the fair. We have to keep that out of her reach, too. She likes to suck on the large head

Mumbles and Pickles, thinking up their next caper

28. Yanno that white dome that covers the bolts that hold the toilet to the floor?
Mine keeps 'liberating' one of them. I have found it in the basement, in my purse, under the couch, under the TV stand, etc...

No idea why/when/how it caught her attention, as I keep putting it back and she keeps 'freeing' it.

The other morning, I awoke just before 5am (which she didn't expect) and actually saw her running into my bedroom with it in her mouth (as opposed to her typical soccer-style of playing).

She cracks me up.

She hopped right up on the table, sat next to my bowl as I was eating breakfast, and dropped it right in. She also used to like to stuff them down the sofa cushions or into my pillow case. She doesn't do it so much anymore, but I think it's because I can no longer find her favorite mousies. Not any toy mouse will do, and if she likes them, she'll gut them. Thank goodness I haven't come across any with compressed sawdust cores lately. Nothing like climbing into bed, and realizing there's a pile of kitty spit-soaked sawdust under the covers.

58. LOL! These are all so funny! I am glad my cats are not the only ones who are easily entertained
with simple objects.

Our kitten also loves to play with pebbles. I have a plate that has 3 candles, held on the plate with pebbles. She knocks a pebble off of the plate, one at a time, it falls to the floor below in the entryway. she runs down the stairs, bats it around. when she loses it, she runs up stairs and repeats the whole process. We always end up with pebbles in our shoes, pebbles all over the house. The other 2 cats are older, and really don't play with toys anymore, but they seem to be entertained when they observe the baby playing.

She came downstairs with the lambs wool buffer used on a drill to polish. It was her daily lug-around companion for years.

The kitty is long gone, I miss her but I still have that buffer. It is a little grungy and ragged but it reminds me of what a wonderful kitty she was.
