Poll question: Anybody see TRUE GRIT yet? If so, which Rooster do you like better, the Duke or the Dude? |
|
I give a very slight edge to John Wayne, but Jeff Bridges Rooster was more dissolute, ornery, and reminded me of cranky old men I knew as a kid who were old enough to at least have known old cusses from the Old West.
If you've seen both, take your pick.
If you ain't, hold yer piece till you have.

1. Jeff plays Rooster way more |
|
rough around the edges than John did. I think it helped the story.

3. yeah, the more that I think about it, Wayne was rough around the edges in the chinese grocery scene |
|
but drifted back to himself by the end.
When Bridges says he's done with the tracking, he's been erratic enough that you believe him.

2. I saw the new one last week |
|
I thought it was very good; parts of it had the whole audience laughing.
