1. I'm doing the same thing...it's not that bad..
Unless you had a SHIT FOR BRAINS cheap ass fucking builder called Fox & Jacobs...

Jesus H Christ on a pogo stick...nothing they did was right. 34" between two of the studs on the back wall of the shower, framing in corner = fail as well. Don't even want to get started on work I'll have to do to fix the drain.

I just got the electrical finished last night. Some idiot maybe 20 years ago decided to put a vent fan and light in. They busted out the drywall in about a six square foot area, drilled a 8" hole in the center of a piece of plywood and screwed it up. Idiots...

And on top of that, in the attic I found where they jumped the electric twice within 4' using boxes that you are SUPPOSED to use for receptacles. No covers, no wire nuts, just out in the open. And on top of THAT, the whole damn fan unit wasn't vented at all, the vent had insulation in it so not working at all, and it wasn't even screwed down. Just fucking sitting there.

If you are just doing a stand up shower be sure to get a good quality shower pan. The cheap ones will always crack around the drain plug. The one I got was about $170. Warranty doesn't matter on those because if it cracks, you are screwed, Have to gut half of what you did just to pull it back out.

Here's the fan w-light I picked up, pretty good quality. We are going to put two small can lights in to accent the cabinet apparently I have to make as wife can't find one she likes :)

Harbor Breeze Brushed Nickel 80 CFM Bath Fan with Lights
