=lorem()

any numbers you put in give you paragraph, sentences per paragraph

i.e. =lorem(4,8) gives you four paragraphs of 8 sentences each


also, try =rand.old()

I think that's the funnest :)


This stuff is used as placeholder text, so if you're playing with formats, fonts, sizes, etc.; you can quickly get a block of text to work with.

Swede- I never knew any of this stuff until you mentioned that one, then my nerd kicked in Google took care of the rest.

When I was in a Word class the instructor taught us this, just as burrfoot said, then you can practice styles, formatting, numbering, etc. on these paragraphs without having to type some text yourself.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's because of the older version.

The lorem gives a selection of latin text that's been used for centuries, apparently.

I think the rand.old in my version probably gives the same thing that rand does in yours, so you aren't missing out on much :)

Any chance you have Excel 95? There's a cool easter egg in that program that I came across while looking up the lorem/rand stuff.

11. Nope, just the 97 suite

My old boss burned me a copy years ago and I treasure it like gold. It does everything I need and isn't a resource hog like newer versions or Open Office.
