1. Nope, only an ipod, that's enough for a quick internet look up
I can't imagine running around with a big device, my ipod is in my pocket...

2. Typing this on an iPad.
Gave CMW this for his birthday last year. I like it. He loves it (and shares it).

3. I've got one.
I mostly just use it for browing the web. I can curl up on the couch with a hot beverage and surf while my two teenage boys have the desktop and the laptop occupied. Also makes a good book reader - I would recommend getting an iPad instead of a Kindle or Nook.

Is it worth the money? Probably not. But what is, these days? I enjoy mine.

5. Somebody gave me one for Xmas.
I mostly use it now to watch movies when I'm on working out on the treadmill. (Netflix streaming)

I also surf, read mail, and play Angry Birds on it.

It also fits nicely on a music stand. I've imported a bit of music in .pdf files into iBook and can use it to practice.

6. I like a real keyboard and a clamshell to protect the screen.
You can get a kick-ass mini (10.2" screen) for under $500 and you've got both the keyboard and the closing cover. I'm sure the iPad (tablets in general) has legitimate uses, but I can't find one for it. As for the mini, weight isn't an issue anymore - get one with a solid state drive.

7. I actually hate laptops/notebooks.
Give me a good old-fashioned desktop for most of my computing needs. But the iPad is really convenient for when I just want browse around without posting much. For that, it's actually much more convenient that a netbook. Boots up almost instantly, and the touch screen is *way* easier to navigate than the touchpad on the netbook. If I just want to check the headlines, or the weather, or a sports score, I'm in and out on the iPad before the laptop would have even booted up.

11. The "boots immediately" is what I love about my mini - solid state drive and Linux.
It cold boots in seconds and there's almost no delay on wake-up when you open the lid. I use the desktop for the high-end computing, but I like being able to keep things together in one place on a laptop and move it around with me. I use the mini for certain things and my 17" laptop for others. Different tools for different jobs. But I started with an Apple II and took typing in 10th grade ('78). I can top 80 wpm off copy on damn near any keyboard (I've found a few that just sucked things that can't be described without getting the thread locked). That's my main means of input.

9. As a PCWorld reviewer put it, the difference between an iPad and a netbook is...
An iPad is great for consuming information and a netbook is better for creating/managing information.

12. No
But I plan to buy a Flytouch as soon as I can afford one:

It runs on Android and has lots of ports for peripherals, plus none of that oppressive proprietary bullshit.

15. I have one
It is a great back up computer. I read books and the news on it. I stream Netflix. I enjoy Stumble Upon on it more than I do on my PC.

I am only hooked up through wi-fi. I may be limited to what I can do with it, but what it does do, it does exceedingly well. I love it.
