My furnace has been busted for a couple of days. I live in Minnesota. It's 44 degrees in my living room.
Do Not Want.

That's the soonest the installers can put in the new system. In the meantime I have space heaters and cats and a warm parka and wool socks.

When my furnace didn't work (for years, but that's another story) on the colder days, I'd open my electric oven while I was awake and warm things up with that, in addition to space heaters. It put out a decent amount of heat, moved around by the fan on the central air unit.
I don't know how efficient that is, but it's another heating idea :)
