What software do you guys use to convert avi video files to a format that will play on an iPad |
|
Seems like there's a kabillion options for doing this. What do you recommend.
I'm running XP.
Thanks.

4. I've seen that mentioned a few times |
|
Seen reference to certain sound quality issues. You haven't experienced any?

But then I use it to convert free movies I snag from The Internet Archive to play on my wee nano. I've had hella luck using it to convert any of the store-bought DVDs I own.

2. I use Videora ipod Converter |
|
It's free, comes with ads, but doesn't set off Windows security or malwarebytes. I've had no problems. Here's a link to the ipad converter. http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPad/

3. I think I used Videora back in the day to put a few things on my iPhone |
|
I seem to recall thinking it was a bit slow.
That was a while ago and it's possible that it wasn't any slower than other programs.
How do you find it, speed wise?

8. Speed wise, not slow enough for me to dump it. |
|
I haven't compared anything against it. It's fast enough and doesn't bog down my (core 2 duo) PC. I don't use the (former) beast to make money with.
So, it's good enough.

5. Also, "Flv Crunch". I've used handbrake but it doesn't work on every darned thing. |

I'll look into it, but first I must go donate.

Of course, I'm on a Linux box, but last I checked it was an open source program available for Windows. Everything is passed as a command-line argument, so you can script it and use the exact same options every time just by running the script against each video you want to convert.
A little more difficult than Handbrake, which is also good, but I've never had an audio issue with it...
