My dad will be 81 tomorrow
He is the greatest man I have ever known and will remain that way forever. He is a tough old bastard and I mean that in the most loving way. He told us that basically the only thing he remembers about war is that the carnage was awful and the fact that he drank a lot of whiskey to try and escape it. He also told us that hard work isn't a bad thing because one can do anything he or she wants to do in the USA.
See, he never graduated from high school because his dad died early and he felt that he work to ease the burden on his mom. So he worked. Then he joined the military and after that, he got married to my mom. They have been married for 56 years and truly will do the "'til death do us part", unlike most right wingers. He instilled left wing values into us, values like forgivness, loving thy neighbor, tolerance, and things like that. So anyway, I just want5 to say Happy Birthday to my dad and many many more. The world will be a much worse place when he is gone.
Oh yeah, one more thing before I forget, he once told me he wanted to kick Bill O'Reilly's ass (his words) because of something o'reilly said about vets not deserving benefits or something.
I say to my dad, do it. I got your back.
