My mom just texted me that one of my elementary schoolmates died.

Last night. Had a massive stroke and never regained consciousness. K was a year ahead of me in school so that would make her 33 or 34 years old at-most. I'm okay I guess, we hadn't been close in 25 years...just stunned.

It's surreal. 34 years old. You expect anything but a stroke. I'm going to need a second to internalize this same way I internalize everything...as a humanities geek.
