need a shitload of good vibes
So far 2011 has been the year from hell for me---- started out great then quickly went downhill to the point where I don't even want to get out of bed anymore (and I'm often in tears before I go to bed and lose sleep too). On top of issues with my personal and financial life, my professional life has been just as bad if not worse. On top of that per a conversation with my mom today, my beloved Tabby is probably in his final days. I can't take anything else going wrong right now.

Last week I was stood up three times for a job interview (luckily it was over the phone and I did not have to travel). I work in a very seasonal field and it's the height of the offseason. I'm chasing leads in three states right now hoping to God that one of them will work out. This job I was stood up for would have resulted in me moving over 1000 miles away, which I was willing to do (a change of scenery could be very good for me right now). A local lead that I thought was going to work out it seemed fell on deaf ears, even though one of the guys in charge is my mentor.

My birthday is next week, is it too much to ask that all I want is my life back on track? I'm a shadow of who I once was at this point. Can just one thing in my life work out in my favor for me?

1. I'm sorry, that all sounds so sucky
No, it's not too much to ask, certainly not. I'm sending vibes, don't have much advice as to the other issues, but I really, sincerely, hope that things start looking up for you soon, and safe passage to your Tabby.

Best wishes, and a big

20. Thanks, I appreciate it
At least I have my friends. My family does not know everything, they just think the job situation makes me miserable.

6. I'm not sure you'd want my vibes.
Mine would suck the life out of you. Your life sounds nearly identical to mine, right down to the kitty who is nearing his final days. Except that thanks to complications from cancer, my mom is no longer capable of holding much of a conversation with anyone--just when I need her the most. My life turned to shit when I got laid off nearly 4 years ago. No end to it in sight, and what little I have left is falling apart--car, clothes, appliances, teeth... Sorry that I have no good vibes to send, but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your life turns out better than mine has.

15. Thank you.
I am not trying to hijack Tabbycat's thread. Just doing a poor job of commiserating, and letting her know she's not alone in living the suckage.

10. I had wonderful grandmothers growing up. They told stories of their lives:
they both faced good times and bad. And what I realized when I went through horrendous times was that it was only temporary. The good times far outweigh the bad. vibes to you. This economy will be better one day soon. You will catch a break. It will be okay.

11. self care, self care
....as good as you can be to yourself. I lost my elder tabby 5 days ago and I'm a wreck. It's a helluva wallop.

Be sure you are getting vitamin D and try really hard to get sufficient sleep. Eat healthy and drink a lot of water.

We're always here to listen.

13. I am trying
However it's not always easy. I've either binged or eaten nothing. Same with drinking (water or alcohol).

Today I had a sandwich and that was it. I'm not hungry at all.

16. Aw tabby ... I hate that it's so bad for you right now.
2010 was my year from hell. 2011 hasn't been much better, but at least the healing process has begun.

For a long time, I didn't want to eat. But you've got to eat, and eat normally.

It really helped me when I could get someone to lend me a sympathetic ear. I knew they couldn't tell me anything to fix my problems, but just having them listen and offer understanding helped me feel not so much alone.

If you don't have that, then try to find someone who will listen. If not IRL, then I'm sure lots of people here would be willing.

Next year, you'll be going through the healing process, someone else will be having the year from hell. Just try to hang in there until then.

24. Dig deep, Sweetie. You can stand this.
I'm sorry for your suffering. It sounds profound. When you can, I'd recommend listening to it and respecting whatever it is telling you. And I'm sending all good vibes. It will change. It will change. Your job is to keep your instrument (yourself) tuned and well taken care of so you'll be able to grab those vibes when they come along.

25. Ok things have gotten a little better
I've got 5 more job leads I am chasing in a 4th state. I would prefer not to head out of state but I have to do what I have to do. Since my field is politics and campaigns, if anyone knows of any special elections please let me know. I did see a Senator last night and Congressman today.

My personal life has gotten a little better-- I am in an I'm not sure what kind of relationship with a guy (who I am crazy about) and things have gotten very strange lately (he has not talked to me lately aside from texting) but his friend invited me (through Facebook) to an event tonight (I can't attend the event due to an outstanding obligation. So clearly something is happening there but I am not sure what. I'll probably text him (my guy, not his friend) tomorrow with a casual what's up. I really want to see him soon because he can quickly make all my job worries go away (I forget about everything else when I am around him). I played hard to get tonight and hopefully it works. I think what triggered everything is that I went to an event with a (male) friend of mine last night and people he knows saw me with my friend and drew conclusions. I want to win over this guy once and for all because I think he's quite the catch and just what I have been looking for all along. I know there's a reason I did not date for awhile, but now that I really want someone it's completely making me crazy.

My Tabby is at my parents house (when I left for my last campaign job I left him with my parents and have not gotten him back). As far as I know he's still alive.

So I could use continued vibes if you got them for me.

27. I work in field for campaigns
It is what wins and loses close elections. We won the congressional on our ticket by 648 votes, and I know I talked to more than 648 people throughout the course of the campaign.

I appreciate what you are saying about my work being valuable. People who are not in politics have no idea the dedication and giving up of your life that goes into a campaign (try moving 700 miles on 36 hours notice) and often wonder why I am doing what I am doing for the salary that it pays. It's a matter of loving my job.

Part of what makes this guy in my above post so valuable to me is that he understands my career and the demands (his friend who contacted me does the same thing that I do but is more senior to campaigns than I am--- I just started after a career change). Most people don't understand my type. It's very hard when my parents don't understand what I do.
