I watched the Glenn Miller Story today on cable for at least the 5,000 time.
Whenever this movie comes on I must watch, don't know why.

I was born after WWII, grew up with rock.

Why must I watch the movie, I know the movie by heart.

The music is OK, must be something planted in the movie.

My favorite scene is the hospital scene, where the band keeps playing.

Even a buzz bomb didn't stop them, that is being brave.

1. The music is better than OK. It is fantastic.
I wonder how much of today's music will sound as good 70 years from today.

2. The music is fine, not a big fan of big band music.
It was the rock of its day.

The teenagers and young adults really liked it.

My Grandmother called it noise, so nothing really changes.

3. I guess it's because my mom listened to it when I was growing up
I'll always have a fondness for Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, etc.

4. I have my Mother's collection of 78's, she had a nice collection.
I don't have anything to play them on, they are not in great condition.

She did seem to like Glen Miller.

The old 78's were big.

5. It's a great performance by Jimmy Stewart
He really captures the look of Glenn Miller, and the story is well written. It's one of the two Stewart biopic performances I really like -- the other being "The Spirit of St. Louis."

6. The movie is fun to watch.
It is a shame Glenn Miller died.

It would be interesting to see how the music would have changed over the years.

The big band era might have gone on longer.

7. Went to high school with the young clarinet player who...
auditions in the movie for a spot in the Miller band. Name was Nino Lo Tempio. He has shortened it to Nino Tempo, still has a band and working the scene in S. CA. He graduated in '52 from Hollywood High.
