Best castle/fort for defense against class III Zombie attack?
I first looked at various medieval castles, then the star forts and finally the Palmerston forts. So many to choose from!

Anyone else have a favorite design?

1. None of the above.
There are no midieval, star, or Palmerston forts near So Cal. I think the best place to hole up within 15 or so miles would be Point Vicente Light house. Strong door which could be quickly reenforced. No weak points like windows anywhere near ground level. Finally this lighthouse is located near a 60' or so cliff. I don't know the angle of repose for a zombie heap, but I'm pretty sure that any zombie ramp-up would slide off the cliff before reaching the top of the lighthouse..

I'm pretty sure I've have given this subject too much thought..

2. If you're thinking about it too much, then so am I
Of course, I'm sort of writing a short zombie story, so the thoughts come into my head at odd hours (usually in the shower, for some reason).

Lighthouse would be very good if the walls were strong. Stuff it full of supplies and water, get yourself solar panels and/or wind turbines, and a Marlin Model 981 with a few dozen bricks of .22 ammo, and you're set for a while.

Crank-powered flashlights and radios, a laptop computer with plenty of games (the whole thing can run off of the solar panels... important way to stay amused). Maybe plant a rooftop garden, or have lots of hanging pots to grow fruits and vegetables in. Just let'em dangle from the railing.

Oh, and an exercise bicycle tied into a generator. Just in case.

3. I was thinking if one had all the money needed to build a duplicate castle/fort.

4. What about an abandoned missile silo?
Strong blast doors and plenty of interior living space.
