1. I used to LOVE it. Shatner's best role ever, I think. |
|
. . . Well-written. Funny. Adult. Extremely interesting ethical/social dilemmas. . . . I loved the cigar-smoking endings out on the terrace. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Denny Craig. . . .

2. Loved, loved, loved the show! |

I cried when it ended and catch it on TV whenever I have a chance. I'm going to have to get the DVDs because I know there are lots of episodes I missed or only saw partially.
Had never been a big fan of James Spader but I just loved him in this show and Shatner was superb! Enjoy your DVDs!

My favorite episode, well...the one that sticks out to me was the season opener of season II, I think it was called "Nimmo Bay."
Its a fishing/hunting resort that Denny and Alan visit, and the shenanigans were down right funny. I loved the series, I wish it didn't die off, but I do admit some of the source material in Season 4, and 5 started to be pretty ludicrous.

6. At the beginning I liked it |
|
then later I just really didn't. Can't go wrong with the first season, though.

Sure, some of the storylines were a little out there, but the political and social commentary was amazing.
I mean, where else are you going to see Antonin Scalia performing a gay marriage ceremony?
I'd buy the whole thing on DVD in a flash if I had the $.

8. It's also helpful to check out the final season of 'The Practice' |
|
although I'm not sure if it's on DVD (sorry). It was Spader's introduction as Alan Shore which led to (no spoilers) his teaming with Denny Crane.
I loved BL. Improbable (at times) but compelling story lines and it is funny as hell!
