4. Bottom crust gets crispy? |

I've made double-decker pizzas in a cast iron dutch oven that were fantastic. May have to try a pan pizza in my iron skillet. :9

5. Never tried one of those......... |

I'm very much a pizza stone guy. I have an el-cheapo stone now (only about 14" diam by 1/2" thick, $15 from Target), one of these days I'm gonna get a big, honkin' 1" thick stone that would have better heat transfer.

6. I've been using Trader Joe's dough and sauce |
|
It's pretty decent. I used to make both from scratch, but if you're in a hurry, it's a good alternative. Made one last night with carmelized onions, sauteed Baby Bella mushrooms, red pepper and ham.

I make my own dough and sauce - pretty easy and not too time-consuming once you get a system down.
For toppings, I'm partial to turkey pepperoni, bacon bits, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes and a light mozzarella topper. But shoot, its pizza! Its all good (except for Pizza Hut :puke: ).

I have a honey-garlic-parmesan homemade dough recipe that's sooooo good. Haven't made it in a while, though.

11. Trader Joe's or Fresh & Easy dough. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar brushed on the hand worked crust. |
|
Topped with fresh basil, Roma tomatoes, and mozzarella . Baked on stone at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Yowza!

13. because you can add adequate mushrooms |
|
which means - no sauce or cheese showing.
I'm a big believer that pizza really is just a carrier for roasted mushrooms...
