Bertha's windshield is cracked.
No, really. One of our cars is named Bertha. Her windshield is cracked.

Does anyone know about windshield repair? The crack starts in the bottom right-hand corner and goes up diagonally. Can that be repaired, or will it have to be replaced?

:hi:

1. It sounds like it is a few inches long. I just had mine replaced about
a month ago. I used Safelite and it cost about $300. You may be able to find someone who will do it a little cheaper. They came to my office and did it while I was at work.

I drove the car around for about year before getting around to having it replaced. The crack on my car was about 18-24" long.

2. Wow - that's a big crack.
Bertha's is only about four inches long. I made an appointment with Safelite, too. Their site says if the crack is smaller than a dollar bill, they might be able to repair it. Fingers crossed.

3. I've named our home security system Bertha
She talks to us "Front door open", "back door open"

Don't know why I named her Bertha but that's the name I chose.

Good luck with the repairs. I have no advice to give on that subject because I have no experience with that type of maintenance.

4. A lot of car insurance policies cover replacement. Give them a call.

5. A cracked windshield is dangerous. Get it fixed. Be sure it is done
right, or even the new one can come out while you are driving.
Here you can get a ticket for it.
