question on the forums--

if I wanted to look back example one year or 5 years - I don't know how long the DU has been in existence - to see what folk were talking about then, is there a way to do that?

Not a specific topic or question, but just to browse thru the posting.

1. search>advanced search>

enter some random common word for the "key word" scroll down to the drop down for forums and choose "big forums" (or whatever)

set the start date for 2004 (earliest it shows) pick an end date near that as well or your return will be unwieldy.

when you get that, then you can redo it with an earlier start date, site was founded in Jan 2000, I believe. hmm on testing I can only get things to go back to 2003 - that was when the site got an update (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=3)

pretty sure I have seen some the first day/week postings before - maybe somebody has a link. I can't seem to find that.
